Frequently Asked Questions About Telehealth Services

What is telehealth addiction treatment?

Telehealth addiction treatment lets you connect with a medical provider online instead of visiting a clinic in person. Here at Porch Light Health, we use a secure video platform called doxy.me so you can meet with a provider, discuss your treatment plan, and receive care from a private space of your choosing. It's designed to make recovery more accessible for people who can't easily travel to a clinic.

Can I get Suboxone prescribed online?

Yes. If our provider determines that Suboxone is a suitable option for you during your online consultation, we can prescribe it through telehealth. Suboxone is an FDA-approved medication for opioid addiction that contains buprenorphine and naloxone, which work together to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. We also offer other medication-assisted treatment options, including Vivitrol and Naltrexone, depending on your needs.

Which areas do you serve?

We provide telehealth and in-person care through a network of more than 60 points of care across Colorado and New Mexico. You and your provider will decide together whether each appointment is best handled virtually or in the office.

How do I prepare for my first telehealth appointment?

Preparing for a virtual visit is straightforward:

- Find a private, quiet space where you can talk comfortably
- Have your photo ID ready for your first appointment
- Click the doxy.me link provided to you by our staff at your appointment time

If anything comes up before your visit, you can reach us at one of our clinic locations or by phone.

Will I ever need to visit a clinic in person?

Sometimes, yes. Certain parts of treatment, such as providing a urine sample, are handled at one of our clinic locations, and the frequency is determined by the treatment plan you and your provider create. Many appointments and follow-ups, however, can be completed entirely through telehealth.

How do I get my medication after a virtual visit?

After your appointment, your provider sends the prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. In most cases we'll use your preferred pharmacy, so you can pick up your medication without delay.

Do you accept Medicaid and insurance?

We accept a wide range of payment options, including Medicaid, Medicare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Humana, Cigna, Kaiser, and TriWest, among others. We support both private health insurance and Medicare, and we also work with self-pay clients.

What if I'm uninsured or can't afford treatment?

We serve all patients regardless of their ability to pay. For uninsured or out-of-pocket clients, we offer a sliding fee scale for medical and behavioral addiction services based on family size and income.

Is telehealth the right choice for me?

Telehealth can be a good fit for many people, and it's especially helpful if you want to manage your treatment schedule more flexibly or have difficulty traveling to a clinic. Our telemedicine services include follow-up support and the ability to consult with nurse practitioners and addiction medicine providers online. You and your provider can decide together whether virtual care, in-person care, or a combination is the best approach for your situation.

What kind of support do you offer beyond medication?

Recovery often involves both medical and emotional support, so our care goes beyond prescriptions. We offer a Virtual Outpatient Program that lets you take part in therapy and counseling sessions online, along with support groups and the option to involve loved ones in your recovery. This is designed to help you maintain continuity of care and adjust your treatment as your needs change over time.

Take the first step and get connected.

We know this is a hard journey, but you are not alone. Porch Light Health will be your partner in beating your addiction.
